How is Social Media Trying to Make You Feel?

Today I reviewed several social media tweets.  The tweet I chose to complete this assignment belongs to Steve Price.

I was required to answer the following questions for today's activity:

How is the author trying to make you feel?
The author is definitely trying to make his viewers excited about reading this book.

What technique are they trying to use to grab your attention?
I feel like Steve Price did a great job of grabbing my attention with his word choice.  He states, "My copy of The Meaningful Writing Project t arrived today. Already know this is a game changer but can't wait to read more."  I can also see his reflection bouncing off the cover which draws my eye to want him to open the book.

Is it effective?
Yes, I believe his advertisement of this book is effective only because I am an English major.  I like the fact that he took a picture of the book instead of just posting words.  I think seeing the image of the book and reading the title and subtitles want me want to go and buy the book.

What Have You've Learned!

Today's in-class assignment entailed peer reviewing each other writings.  I learned to examine the content moreover the mechanics.  My partner did an excellent job conveying her message.  She supported her argument with solid quotes from her source and formed her own opinions as well. Her paper was well organized and easy to follow.  Great job!

This was my first time doing a peer review.  I was a little timid about this assignment, because I wasn't sure if I could offer suggestions that could help my partner.  But after I read my partners paper, I had the confidence to share my suggestions and felt that my suggestions would help improve her paper.  I'm just hoping my suggestions are clear and we can discuss them in class on Thursday.  I believe reviewing my peers paper will help me become a better writer and help others in their revision process.
